The highway and the service road

Highway 1 runs long and straight across the prairie, and Living Sky Casino sits right beside it. The casino says the Trans-Canada brings the million plus vehicles that pass through the area each year. Its address is 1401 North Service Rd E, Swift Current, SK S9H 3X6, on the road that runs along the highway. There is plenty of parking on site.

Just off the Trans-Canada Highway, Living Sky Casino opened its doors in December 2008. It serves southwest Saskatchewan, and travellers on Highway 1 pass its door in both directions. Questions before a stop can go to 306-778-5759, or toll free to 866-633-7333. The casino's own site, livingskycasino.ca, lists shows on its entertainment page.

Coming from the west

Drivers heading east out of Alberta cross a long stretch of prairie before Swift Current. In straight lines, Calgary is 450 km from the casino and Medicine Hat is 208 km. Once over the border, the distance is 129 km to Maple Creek and 55 km to Gull Lake. These are straight lines; the roads run longer, and no driving times are given here.

Clocks are the other thing to watch. Across the province, Saskatchewan runs on Central Standard Time, UTC-6, through the whole year. Casino hours follow Saskatchewan time: 10 AM until 2 AM, daily. No holiday hours are published, so put the question to the casino line, 306-778-5759.
